Geological Modeling and Business Development Leader
The role of a Geological Modeling and Business Development Leader involves spearheading geological modeling efforts, developing business opportunities with clients, and establishing a resource geology practice within an international mining group.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead geological modeling, data validation, and resource estimation efforts for mining sector clients
Develop proposals and establish relationships with new and existing clients
Oversee the hiring, training, and mentoring of early- and mid-career staff members
Conduct field work and travel internationally (up to 10% and 20%, respectively)
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in geology or engineering geology, or a related field of study
Advanced degree in a related field (preferred) and professional affiliation (e.g., GSL, AusIMM)
Professional registration (e.g. CGeol) and at least 10 years of experience working in consulting environments
Skills and Qualifications:
High standard of technical geological knowledge and 10+ years of experience in business development, leadership, and client relationship-building
Significant experience performing and leading mineral resource estimation services and managing project delivery
Excellent writing, communication, and leadership skills, as well as proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Datamine, Isatis)
