Maliga Ngura – meaning “to shine on Country” in Darkinjung language – is not just a business; it's a movement. We are a fast-growing Aboriginal-owned enterprise delivering premium hospitality, catering, fleet, auxiliary, and professional cleaning services. Every plate served, every site maintained, every team rostered – it all contributes to something bigger: creating jobs, building pride, and delivering quality services grounded in culture and community.
We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on General Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and knows how to lead integrated service operations with precision, passion, and purpose.
The Role
This is not your average GM gig. We're looking for someone who can drive business growth, tighten systems, and lead with cultural humility. You'll oversee all operational arms – from bustling kiosks and catered events to coordinated cleaning teams and vehicle fleets. If you're an operations powerhouse with a sharp mind for strategy and an eye for detail, we want to hear from you.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead strategic planning and implement growth-focused business strategies
• Oversee all daily operations across hospitality, cleaning, auxiliary, and fleet services
• Build strong customer, supplier, and stakeholder relationships
• Lead a diverse, high-performing team with purpose and accountability
• Manage budgets, financial performance, and service KPIs
• Overhaul and streamline rostering, scheduling, and operational systems
• Deliver against compliance, WHS, and quality standards
• Drive new business development and service innovation
• Report directly to the CEO and Board
What We’re Looking For
• Degree in Business, Management, or similar (or extensive equivalent experience)
• 5+ years leading small-to-medium hospitality, catering, or service enterprises
• Proven success managing cleaning, maintenance, or support operations
• High-level experience in staff rostering, resource scheduling, and system improvement
• Strong commercial acumen – you understand margins, cost control, and sustainable growth
• A natural leader who can inspire, delegate, and build team culture
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A commitment to community, cultural safety, and operational excellence
Industry-specific experience is highly desirable, but the right mindset, capability, and values alignment matter most.
Why Join Us?
• Be part of a values-led Aboriginal enterprise creating real change
• Competitive remuneration and a chance to shape a growing business
• Diverse and purpose-driven team environment
• Opportunity to lead innovation, not follow the status quo
Applications are now open.
Come and lead where your impact matters – on Country, for Community, with Integrity.
