The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia, located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure across all disciplines for this exciting capital project.
Job Summary
Position for timekeeping function activities carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures, located at a construction jobsite. Candidate responsible for verification of daily attendance, review and verification of daily time records, discrepancies between timesheet hours and badge scanning reports, coding absentees, maintaining hours per labor agreements, verifying time payouts for terminated employees, loading crew timesheet data into SAP payroll system, and assisting Brisbane-based payroll teams with queries. Assists in preparation of project/functional timekeeping reports including daily force reporting, attendance and ad‐hoc reports. Ensures year‐end payroll statements, paychecks, and employee pay entitlements processed per internal payroll deadlines and Australian statutory regulations. May participate in training future timekeeping staff, provide gap coverage to other FIFO timekeeping staff, and help maintain unit performance standards. Requires good communication, time‐management, intermediate spreadsheet analysis, and basic‐to‐intermediate experience with payroll/timekeeping systems. Reports directly to the Lead Timekeeper and project‐deployed accounting supervisor. Operates on a 2:1 roster in Cloncurry, QLD.
Major Responsibilities
* Coordinate with Workforce Services to ensure prompt input of all required payroll information for Craft Professionals into project timekeeping and payroll systems.
* Data entry including new hire information, terminations, rate and classification changes, etc.
* Onboard project new hires, including badging for all site personnel.
* Verify daily craft attendance using the eTrack timekeeping system.
* Review, reconcile, and export daily time records for craft employees.
* Replace badging and maintain/troubleshoot time clocks.
* Create and distribute daily/weekly reporting such as force reports, attendance infractions, timesheet completion, etc.
* Sort, validate, and distribute weekly craft payroll checks/direct‐deposit slips.
* Process requests for time off and daily call‐ins for craft employees.
* Maintain craft employee files, including scanning for records retention.
* Maintain crew timesheets as directed by construction supervision.
* Act as gate watch (badge scanning) for personnel at the project site.
* Provide payroll‐related customer service to craft professionals.
* Perform any other related activities as assigned by the Timekeeping Supervisor or Project Finance and Accounting Manager.
Education and Experience Requirements
* University hire with 1–2 years of experience, or 5–6 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Experience with timekeeping and payroll processes, procedures, and technology.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality with strong ethical behavior.
* Customer‐service orientation with professional demeanor and communication style.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency with eTrack timekeeping and payroll systems, or equivalent application.
* Experience working on large FIFO‐type construction projects.
