Global Engineering Governance and Standards Lead
We are seeking a highly experienced engineering professional to lead the development and implementation of global engineering standards and processes.
* Develop, govern, assure, and provide expert guidance on global engineering standards, processes, and systems—particularly in Management of Change and Engineering Information Management.
* Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with functional, asset, and operational stakeholders.
* Provide technical expertise and support to BHP assets and operations globally in implementing and managing engineering requirements.
* Champion continuous improvement across processes, systems, and technologies.
* Challenge conventional thinking and act as a catalyst for innovation and change in a complex business environment.
* Ensure alignment with the company charter, global standards, code of conduct, and relevant statutory obligations.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of engineering principles and practices, combined with exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent) preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or Structural.
* Demonstrated experience in engineering and/or maintenance, ideally within the mining industry.
* Deep knowledge of the company's global engineering requirements, especially in Management of Change and Engineering Information Management.
* Experience working within asset and/or operational engineering or maintenance teams.
* A solid understanding of asset management, strategy development, maintenance execution, planning, reliability, or production processes.
* Strong grasp of risk management, governance, and assurance practices.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across a matrixed organisation.
* High technical aptitude, strategic thinking, and critical analysis capabilities.
* A passion for continuous improvement and excellence, with an outward mindset.
* Proven success in leading strategic change initiatives and delivering results in complex environments.
* A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to build transparent and trusting relationships across all levels of the organisation.
