We are seeking an experienced butcher to join our team.
Main Responsibilities
* Prepare meat for wholesale and retail sale using various processes such as boning, trimming, cutting, mincing and grinding.
* Remove bones, trim fat and cut meat to shape and size as ordered by customers or clients.
* Prepare crumbed cuts of meat, marinating, seasoning and curing special cuts.
* Select and prepare meat to produce smallgoods such as sausages, bacon and ham.
* Operate machines to grind, mix, mince and tenderise meat to the required texture.
* Make seasonings and pickles by mixing spices, salt and other ingredients.
* Operate sausage filling machines, smoking chambers and cooking kettles and vats.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience as a butcher, hold a Certificate III in Meat Processing or related qualification, possess OH&S awareness, Food Handling and RSA certificates. They should also have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have the ability to lift heavy weights regularly.
