Job Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in the Underground Mine Services operational team, supporting underground operations through the installation and maintenance of critical mechanical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Champion a culture of care and act as a visible safety leader for the team and stakeholders.
* Analyse operational data and apply industry-leading tools to drive departmental capability.
* Lead mechanical improvement projects from planning through to execution and closeout.
* Support leadership in managing risk and understanding risk appetite across mechanical systems.
* Conduct routine financial analysis and reporting.
This role is essential in preparing our services team for transition to Cemented Paste Fill (CPF) in FY26 and contributing to the successful implementation of the underground paste reticulation network.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline are essential.
* Experience in heavy industry, mining, or underground operations is highly advantageous.
* A strong understanding of mechanical infrastructure such as compressed air systems, water reticulation, pumping stations, barricades, backfill reticulation, and ventilation systems is required.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerBI for data consolidation and analysis, is necessary.
* A collaborative team player with excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
