Based in Chirnside Park, we currently have a full-time position available for a Press Offsider / Machine Operator to produce high end labels.
This role will Initially be working on our day shift for the training period before transitioning to permanent afternoon shift.
Role functions include, but not limited to:
* Assist Printers to set up and wash up printing presses including mounting, removing and washing plates, ink chambers, rollers and blades.
* Delivery of roll stock to and from press
* Mixing inks and solvents to standard and regulating substrate and ink during print runs
* Setting, adjusting and monitoring roll finishing equipment
* Produce finished labels to meet customer specifications
* Trouble shooting of machine errors
* Undertake maintenance, adjustment, repair and cleaning of machines
* General cleaning and other associated duties as directed by the Press Operators and Management.
* Maintenance of a safe and clean working environment
* Actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives (5S)
The successful applicant will be given training but should demonstrate:
* Experience in the printing industry an advantage
* Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
* Stability, commitment and an eagerness to learn.
* Eye for detail
* Positive attitude
* Ability to work in a team, follow instructions and also work unsupervised
* Good communication skills (reporting to Team Leader and Production Manager)
* Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
* Highly motivated and quick learner.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Flexibility to work overtime & weekends
* Good Computer skills
