Permanent Full-Time - 35 hours per week

As our People & Culture (P&C) Trainee, you won't just be an observer—you'll be earning while learning, gaining a wealth of experience, knowledge, and exposure to all HR functions while completing a formal qualification.
You will be mentored and supported by a team of passionate P&C officers driven to better our organisation and our community.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior People and Culture Officer, this entry-level role is your gateway to the world of Human Resources.
You will adopt a professional and proactive approach to administrative tasks while supporting the broader team to achieve high-quality service delivery for our employees.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Completing a Certificate IV in Human Resource Management, including all academic coursework and on-the-job training requirements.
Applying theoretical learnings from your studies to practical workplace scenarios and P&C projects.
Providing end-to-end administrative support across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment and learning & development.
Maintaining the integrity of employee records within our Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
Acting as a professional first point of contact for internal and external customers regarding general P&C enquiries.
Handling sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism and care.
Assisting with people-focused initiatives, such as employee engagement and wellbeing programs.
The location for this role is the Max Centre in Moree.

About You
We are looking for a collaborative, empathetic, and detail-oriented individual who is ready to learn.
You have a solutions-oriented mindset and the enthusiasm to drive continuous improvement within our team.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
A genuine interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources and a commitment to completing your qualification.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear information to a diverse range of people.
Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage competing tasks while maintaining high attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software systems quickly.
A solid understanding of confidentiality and professionalism.
Previous Local Government experience.
Current Class C Driver's Licence.
Required Clearances and Checks:
Working with Children Check.
Pre-employment medical, which may include drug and alcohol testing.
