Offer description

A role with impact If you like turning complex infrastructure data into clear, investable plans - and you enjoy leading people with empathy and high standards, this is a role where your work will be felt across an entire community for generations to come.

Lockyer Valley Regional Council is building for the future, with significant growth and the region's largest capital program to date. The Lockyer Valley is a leisurely one hour's drive from Australia's third largest city and home to affordable land prices with easy access to logistic hubs. The region has some of the richest and most productive agricultural land on earth and is home to more than 45,000 people. The region is the perfect location to secure that sought-after work-life balance with immersive community experiences.

Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Design & Asset Management, you'll lead the Infrastructure Planning and Asset Management function-guiding a team of technical specialists to deliver asset management, long-term financial modelling and lifecycle decision-making across Council's infrastructure.

You will oversee the development and continuous improvement of Asset Management Plans (including establishing new AMPs across asset classes), contribute to the 10-year Long Term Financial Plan and annual capital works program, and strengthen governance, reporting and change control across the asset lifecycle.

You're a confident, diplomatic leader who enjoys coaching technical specialists and building strong cross-functional relationships. You'll bring a solid foundation in engineering and/or asset management, with demonstrated experience developing AMPs and long-term financial plans, analysing and modelling asset data to identify trends and shape renewal programs, and producing high-quality reports and correspondence for internal and external audiences. You'll also understand civil infrastructure design, construction and maintenance practices, and the financial capitalisation and depreciation requirements that sit behind asset decisions. Familiarity with asset management and engineering systems and data tools will be well regarded.

This is a chance to make a real difference as Council lifts asset management maturity and delivers a record capital program.

It is essential that you possess tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline for engineering and/or asset management along with relevant demonstrated experience. Along with your knowledge of civil design, construction & maintenance practices and financial capitalisation & depreciation requirements across various asset categories, you have demonstrated experience in high level report writing & correspondence along with the ability to analyse and model asset data to identify trends for the creation of asset renewal programs.
