Description
The Opportunity: Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Electrician to join their team in Lithgow, NSW. Council are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about starting a career in the electrotechnology industry.
Responsibilities
More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):
* Follow all WHS policies, electrical safety requirements and safe work procedures
* Assist in maintaining electrical and control systems that support safe drinking water and wastewater services
* Apply learned knowledge under supervision to progressively build competence in electrical, instrumentation and control system
* Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities across treatment plants and pumping stations
* Contribute to maintaining accurate work records and asset information
* Use Council tools, plant and materials responsibly
* Follow procedures that support regulatory compliance and environmental protection
* Assist in maintaining documentation required for audits and operational assurance
* Communicate clearly and work cooperatively with supervisors, operators and contractors
* Demonstrate reliability, professionalism and adherence to Council's Code of Conduct

About You
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
* Record of School Achievement (RoSA) with intermediate mathematical skills
* A commitment to undertake vocational learning in a relevant trade's area
* Demonstrated ability to work in a flexible manner and part of a team
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Be self-motivated and show initiative in the delegated areas of responsibility
* A willingness to comply with all council's policies and procedures
* High level of motivation and punctuality
* Demonstrated interest in electrical systems, automation or infrastructure services
* Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and Safety
* Demonstrated commitment to honesty and integrity
Ideal Candidate
* Class C driver's licence
* Advanced mathematical skills
* Familiarity with the Lithgow local government area
* Construction Industry White Card
Salary and Benefits
* Between $482.00 and $1,023.00 per week, commensurate with your age, skills, qualifications and experience
* Temporary, Full-time, 38 hours per week (4 year Apprenticeship)
