The Opportunity
As a Quality Inspection Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining our high standards of product quality.
You will be the go-to person for troubleshooting quality issues, providing advanced technical expertise, and ensuring that customer requirements are consistently met.
Your responsibilities will include complex inspections, quality assurance, and training junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct manual inspections: Use precision measuring tools, borescopes, and visual techniques to verify parts and assemblies.
Prepare and document results: Measure and log components before and after anodizing, create balloon drawings, and record critical dimensions in Excel and Bluebeam.
Compile and manage quality documentation: Generate certificates of conformance, part identification stickers, and customer documentation using Word, Accentis, and data matrix software.
Collaborate across departments: Communicate inspection results and quality issues, working closely with relevant teams to resolve them.
Maintain workplace standards: Follow daily 5S routines to ensure an organized and efficient work area.
Interpret complex drawings: Read and apply medium to complex drawings, including GD&T, to support accurate CMM and Romer Arm programs.
Operate CMM and Romer Arm: Perform inspections, basic programming, and provide feedback for any required rework.
Train and mentor staff: Support the development of junior Quality Inspectors in advanced inspection techniques and equipment use.
Your Skills and Experience
Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within a manufacturing environment - this is a senior role requiring proven expertise
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards
Strong ability to read and interpret medium to complex drawings, including GD&T
Some experience operating and programming CMMs and confident using the Romer Arm, with the ability to provide constructive feedback
Experienced with precision measuring instruments and quality documentation creation
Competent in using a variety of measuring equipment and basic hand tools
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to train and mentor junior staff to higher competency levels
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
Organised and efficient, with excellent time management and decision-making capabilities
Able to work independently as well as part of a team, maintaining a respectful and flexible approach
