About the Role

Strive Community Care provides therapeutic home environments for children and young people with histories of complex trauma, abuse and neglect.

Strive Community Care utilises a strong Therapeutic Framework and unique CREATE Model of Care with a focus on establishing holistic safety for children involved in OOHC. Children and young people are provided with a sense of family, support to heal, opportunity to positively connect with others, and rebuild their lives.

As Strive is growing, we are now looking for a Therapeutic Care Manager to play a key role in supporting children and young persons in their healing journey through capably managing a number of residential OOHC programs in the Sunshine Coast and Central Queensland region specifically, the Sunshine Coast or Gympie Region. Your regular workplace would be your home office; however, regular attendance at the programs is required.

This permanent full-time role involves Monday to Friday hours with some weekend on-call management work required.

Duties of the successful applicant include:

* Manage the daily operations of a small number of therapeutic residential OOHC programs in the Sunshine Coast and Central Queensland (Gympie) region including safety planning, crisis response, and person-centred strategies.
* Embedding a therapeutic framework by overseeing best practice implementation of Children and Young People's tailored care, and fostering an outcomes-focused team through the CREATE Model of Care.
* Professional and responsive engagement with stakeholders via phone, email, and in-person meetings as a key aspect of collaborative casework and care.
* Development and management of program rosters.
* Provide leadership, supervision, and mentoring to care teams of Therapeutic Care Workers.
* Responsible for meeting OOHC reporting requirements for programs and ensuring that appropriate documentation is kept in line with regulatory and legislative standards.
* Administration and accountability of finance and program planning.
* Occasional after-hours and on-call duties.

About you

The successful applicant/s will require the following Qualifications and Experience:

* Ideally, degree qualified (Social Work, Psychology, etc), although having a minimum Cert IV qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. Youth Work, Social Work, Social Science, Counselling) is essential.
* Relevant managerial experience in residential OOHC is essential with strong understanding of practice, legislative/regulatory, and staff support requirements. Experience in developing case plans/safety plans/behaviour support plans, case noting, and report writing is essential.
* Demonstrated experience in working effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities.
* Current HLTAID003 First Aid Certificate or equivalent is essential.
* Valid unrestricted Australian drivers licence
* Valid Blue Card and Yellow Card (or willingness to attain)
* Current Police Check that was obtained in the last 12 months
* Current LCS check
* Experience in working with young people with complex trauma is essential.
* Cultural knowledge and/or lived experience that supports an inclusive and culturally responsive approach to working with young people
