GEBIE Civil and Construction (GCC) is the commercial subsidiary of Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island Enterprises Aboriginal Corporation (GEBIE). GCC undertakes Civil and Construction projects across the Groote Archipelago and has a commercial workshop for vehicles, plant, and equipment.
We are seeking a trade-qualified Heavy Diesel (HD) Mechanic based on Groote Eylandt. This position involves maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for a diverse heavy fleet in a premier remote environment.
This is a FIFO position based out of DARWIN, CAIRNS or BRISBANE on an 18-days-on/10-days-off roster. (Direct flights from Brisbane to Groote Eylandt available, subject to change/availability)
Duties and Responsibilities
* Scheduled servicing, diagnostic testing, and preventative maintenance.
* Component change-outs and major overhauls across a mixed fleet.
* Troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.
Skills and Experience required
* Trade Certificate: Australian Recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanical Trade Qualification.
* Licensing: HR Licence minimum (HC or MC highly desirable).
* Technical Experience: Experience with CAT, Hitachi, Isuzu, and Mack.
* Applicants must be able to pass a full pre-employment medical.
* Australian citizenship is required for this position.
