About the role
Our client is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth, build strong client relationships, and position the organization as a leader in environmental and occupational testing services. This is a pivotal role where you'll combine strategic thinking with hands‐on business development, mentoring your team while achieving ambitious revenue targets.
This position is:
* Based in Perth
* Requires regular travel
* A permanent opportunity, with full-time hours
Your key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Lead Generation & Account Management
o Generate leads and cold‐call prospective clients
o Provide accurate quotes and follow up to secure conversions
o Review client contracts and agreements
* Business Development
o Present the organization's value proposition to prospective clients
o Conduct regular client visits (including top 5 clients every six months)
o Attend industry events and conferences to identify opportunities
o Collaborate on marketing materials and prepare tenders
o Team Leadership & Mentorship
+ Coach and mentor direct reports, fostering professional growth
+ Conduct performance reviews and set clear development goals
+ Build a positive, inclusive team culture
o Continuous Improvement
+ Identify and implement process improvements
+ Encourage innovation in sales and account management
About you
o Bachelor's degree in Science, Business, or related field (preferred)
o Strong mineral and/or metallurgical‐related background
o Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally in environmental or related industries
o Ideally prior experience within laboratory environments
o Proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office Suite
o Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
o Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet revenue targets
o A natural leader who thrives on mentoring and building relationships
