The Opportunity
This is your chance to lead the way in optimising and evolving a diverse application portfolio that underpins vital public services. As the Senior Application Administrator, you will take ownership of administering, upgrading, and improving key applications across the Department, ensuring they remain reliable, secure, and fit for purpose.
You'll collaborate with business owners, technical teams, and external partners to deliver application enhancements, resolve complex issues, and support innovation. From managing upgrades and incident response to shaping contingency and recovery plans, you will play a central role in ensuring applications meet the needs of both users and the wider organisation.
With the opportunity to mentor less experienced staff and guide best practice in application management, this role is both technically hands-on and strategically influential contributing directly to the Department's digital capability and service delivery.
About You
You are a highly skilled and adaptable professional with extensive expertise in systems administration, support, and development across a broad range of technologies. Your technical capability spans AWS, C#, .NET Core, JavaScript, Angular, and Appian, alongside Oracle platforms, Atlassian products, IIS and Tomcat servers, and enterprise records management systems such as Open Text eDOCS.
You thrive working under limited direction—confidently setting priorities, planning and coordinating activities, and delivering outcomes within tight deadlines. With a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, you act with urgency, take responsibility, and drive complex change initiatives that deliver tangible improvements.
Your strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to engage effectively at all levels—whether presenting information clearly, preparing succinct documentation, or navigating conflict with professionalism and diplomacy. You bring both technical depth and collaborative strength, making you a trusted partner in delivering reliable, innovative, and high-performing applications.
