We are on the hunt to find a new venue manager to run the show here at Gilhooleys Sunshine Plaza

The Venue

Gilhooleys was Brisbane's original Irish bar & Restaurant and has expanded to the Sunshine Coast. Our restaurant and bar is quickly becoming a much loved fixture in Maroochydore. With great meals, live Irish music and a top selection of beers, wines & cocktails.

The Role

We are looking for someone who has a great deal of experience in venue management and who feels very confident in their own ability to run a high volume restaurant & bar. Putting a strong focus on customer service and food quality.

You need to be confident in your ability to make hard decisions autonomously, manage a team of dedicated staff and have a good understanding of restaurant based promotions. You need to understand how a large scale venue works from the top to the bottom and be the adult at all times. We want someone to make Gilhooleys their home and help to continue the growth in this new arm of the brand. Whilst this is a management role you will need to be confident and comfortable running meals, co‐ordinating kitchen teams, racking glasses on a busy Saturday night or jumping behind the bar and slinging beers to help the team.

About you

• Proven experience in similar roles within the hospitality industry
• Proficient in financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting
• Develop and implement further effective strategies to maximise revenue, control costs, and optimise efficiency
• Comprehensive knowledge of compliance, licencing and relevant legislation
• Must have RMLV and approved managers licence
• Ability to make decisions autonomously
• Foster a positive and productive work environment, providing leadership, training, and support to the staff
• Oversee menu planning and implementation in conjunction with the Head Chef
• Oversee the planning and execution of live music gigs alongside our bookings agent
• Exceptional problem‐solving and decision‐making skills, with the ability to think strategically and autonomously
• Passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to contribute to the continued growth and success of Gilhooleys
