Alfabs is on the lookout for a motivated and experienced Workshop Mechanic to join our Mining Equipment Division in Unanderra.Specialising in Repairs and Overhauls of the Latest Mining RTV Fleet, Alfabs service both internal and external customers with equipment for QDS, Secondary Support, Longwall Move, and Material Handling Equipment, our department designs and manufactures custom-built machinery to meet the unique needs of our mining clients.We offer both sales and hire solutions—and now, we're growing.

What You'll Be Doing:Reporting directly to the Workshop SupervisorPerforming pre-start inspections and routine maintenanceDiagnosing faults and completing repairs on a variety of diesel-powered mining equipment, including LHDs and Drift RunnersReplacing or refurbishing components as part of planned maintenanceMaintaining a safe and efficient worksite while identifying opportunities for improvementEnsuring compliance with all company policies and safety standardsWhat You Bring:Trade qualification as a diesel mechanic or similarPrevious experience with underground or surface mining equipment (highly desirable)Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive work ethicExcellent communication and a team-first attitudeValid driver's licenceAbility to pass a pre-employment medical & drug screeningForklift licence (preferred)Other relevant tickets or licences are a bonus!
