About the TAC
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a Victorian Government-owned organisation whose role is to promote road safety, support those who have been injured on our roads and help them get their lives back on track.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive role supports the CEO, Board and Executive Leadership Team on key strategic priorities and external relations, including oversight of the TAC’s government relations function. The role provides high-level specialist advisory support, contributing to the efficient operation of the Office of the CEO and delivery of the TAC’s strategic objectives.
Operating in a highly visible and politically sensitive environment, the Director plays a critical role in managing executive briefings, correspondence and publications, representing the CEO as required, and maintaining strong relationships with Ministers, Ministerial offices, central agencies and key stakeholders.
While time-limited, this is a strategically significant appointment, designed to provide continuity, sound judgement and trusted advice during a period of parental leave. The role is anticipated to be part-time (approximately 3 days per week).
About You
You are an experienced executive in the public sector with demonstrated experience providing high-level strategic and tactical advice to senior stakeholders, including experience working closely with Ministers and Ministerial offices.
You bring a strong understanding of government and departmental processes, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the credibility to operate as a trusted advisor to the CEO on complex, sensitive and high-priority matters. You are politically astute, highly organised, and able to manage competing priorities with discretion, confidence and professionalism.
You will be values-led and collaborative in your leadership style, capable of building strong relationships across government and within the organisation, and comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced executive environment. Experience in machinery of government, governance, policy and executive coordination will be essential.
