Your new company
Join a major federal government department enhancing and modernising its identity and access management (IAM) capabilities. You'll be part of a cross‑functional team consisting of APS staff and contractors, working within established scope, governance and reporting structures. This is a key opportunity to contribute to stabilising and uplifting the department's Identity Access Management platform. This role is open to Canberra-based applicants only. You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain an NV1 clearance.
Your new role
As a Senior Identity Access Software Developer, you will play a critical role in delivering Business‑as‑Usual (BAU) support and uplift for the department's One Identity Manager platform. You will lead Level 1 and Level 2 BAU activities, troubleshoot complex issues, implement configuration changes, and ensure platform stability.
You'll also contribute to enhancements that sit between BAU and project delivery, support integrations across enterprise systems, and build custom applications using .NET (C#) and Angular. This role requires strong technical depth, initiative, and the ability to operate independently in a high‑complexity environment.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential skills
* Proven experience developing IAM solutions-preferably One Identity Manager-within a government environment.
* Strong development capability in .NET (C#) and Angular, including building and maintaining custom applications, extensions and integrations.
* Proficiency in PowerShell or Python for automation, scripting and operational efficiency.
* Deep knowledge of IAM protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and integration with Active Directory/Azure AD.
* Experience designing and implementing RBAC and ABAC access models.
Desirable skills
* Strong experience in One Identity Manager configuration, customisation and workflow development.
* Exposure to cloud IAM platforms such as Azure AD or AWS IAM.
* Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
* Understanding of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
Key Responsibilities
* Configure, maintain and enhance One Identity Manager workflows, policies and connectors.
* Implement advanced customisations (scripts, modules, processes) to support BAU requirements.
* Build and enhance .NET/Angular applications and integrations with third‑party systems.
* Architect and implement identity lifecycle processes, provisioning/deprovisioning workflows and RBAC structures.
* Develop complex reports, dashboards and analytics within One Identity Manager.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to document requirements and ensure alignment with security standards.
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to capability uplift across the IAM function.
* Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues.
* Oversee patches, upgrades and maintenance activities.
* Produce detailed technical and operational documentation.
