About the Role
Curtin University is seeking a well‑organised Administrative Support Officer to provide essential administrative support for our team. This is a 2‑year, fixed‑term, part‑time (0.5 FTE) contract opportunity, with the ideal candidate expected to be available to work 5 days per week, on a part‑time basis with some flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage documentation, reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence using MS Office applications in accordance with work unit standards.
* Respond to enquiries and requests from school/area customers in a proactive, accurate, and professional manner, ensuring compliance with work area rules and processes.
* Coordinate meetings and appointments, including scheduling, venue booking, and catering arrangement.
* Act as first point of contact for visitors and clients, liaise with stakeholders, and support area operational requirements.
* Administer records, forms, and information management systems in accordance with University policy and legislation.
* Undertake general clerical tasks and other activities consistent with the above responsibilities.
WiSTEM Focus
A key aspect of this role is supporting the Manager, Strategic Projects, and the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee in coordinating WiSTEM (Women in STEM) activities. This includes managing the SAE Diversity Space, building relationships across staff and student cohorts, maintaining databases for WiSTEM initiatives, and facilitating engagement programs for alumni and stakeholders.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Who we are looking for:
* Completion of a diploma qualification with relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
* Demonstrated experience in the provision of general administrative support and the ability to apply skills to a varied range of tasks.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently with general direction.
* Demonstrated oral communication skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people clearly and professionally, with cross‑cultural sensitivity.
* Demonstrated ability to organise time and work activities according to priorities and to meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated computer literacy with skills in a wide range of applications including word processing and/or spreadsheet packages and email.
Desirable
* Strong interest in Diversity Inclusion, with understanding of intersectionality.
* Previous experience within the higher education industry.
Role Requirements
* As this is a fixed‑term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
* Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfaction.
* This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up‑to‑date Working with Children Check.
* This is a 0.5 FTE part‑time role on campus at Bentley. Preferred working days: Monday to Friday, 10 am to 2 pm, with some flexibility.
