Offer description

SMYL Community College is a referral only 'Curriculum and Re‑engagement in Education' (CaRE) School that caters specifically for students who have disengaged from mainstream education. The College offers a full‑time alternative education programme under the School Education Act 1999 (WA) for 12 to 18 year olds.

All students referred to the College have significant barriers to education as a result of diagnosed and undiagnosed mental health and other disabilities – social‑emotional, sensory, intellectual, learning and physical. Teaching and learning is adjusted, and support services provided, to meet students' needs. A collaborative case management model is a key component of the College operations. Teachers and other professional staff work together to find the most appropriate learning pathway for every student.
