**The role**:
We have a full-time permanent vacancy for this busy diverse role in Bunbury, Western Australia.
Main responsibilities include coordinating ship's berthing and loading, assessing, monitoring and reporting on conditions of ships and goods and ensuring all marine standards are upheld and adhered to.
**Specific responsibilities**:
- Controlling and coordinating ships berthing and loading operations
- Organise requirements for shifting the ship as required
- Provide technical assistance regarding barge and vessel loading activities
- Adhere to marine safety regulations and occupational health & safety regulations regarding ships in ports.
- Perform and oversee inspection/surveying tasks for the vessel including draft surveys, cargo trimming, oil/chemical tanker quantity surveys and sampling, on hire/off hire bunker and condition surveys, flag state inspections, quality surveys, container damage surveys
- Analyze data obtained from surveys and formulate recommendations pertaining to vessel compliance and capacities
- Draft accurate, professional reports regarding findings and recommendations
- Marine and technical consultancy
- Review of ETA lists and coordination of ship's services
- Liaise with clients and build positive relationships
- Present the company in a professional and ethical manner to all customers
- Conduct all activities in line with the company Code of Ethics and Operating Standards
**Essential requirements**:
- Must demonstrate the right to live and work in Australia
- Hold a valid Australian Driver's License
- Have a AMSA approved Seafarer certification
- Hold a valid MSIC or the ability and willingness to obtain one
**Other required Skills**:
- Leadership skills
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office - MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
- Ability to perform physically demanding work activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
