The Assistant Climate Manager is expected to be the ultimate role model for exhibiting respect and kindness for all staff, students, and families while maintaining school expectations both behaviorally and academically.Regular and predictable attendance are essential functions of this position.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Assisting in managing the school's climate, culture, and behavior programsCollecting and analyzing student discipline and behavior data and using data to inform intervention strategiesAssisting the administrative team with handling student discipline issuesCommunicating and upholding school rules, values, and expectations in a clear and consistent manner, both in and out of the classroomCommunicating with parents and students and responding to issues on a regular basis via phone, e-mail, and in-person, as neededEnsuring regular and predictable attendance on a daily basisOther duties as assignedPOSITION REQUIREMENTSAt least two years of school experience required, preferably in the area of school climate and cultureCommitment to urban education and a belief that all students should be held to high academic standardsStrong work ethic, positive attitude, teamwork, and leadership skillsHigh physical and emotional energyStrong technology skillsExcellent time management and multi-tasking skills with the ability to "wear many hats"Commitment to diversity and inclusionWORKING CONDITIONSThe working conditions of an Assistant Climate Manager include:Very high levels of social interaction, with daily and consistent work with children, parents, and other teachers.Communicating face-to-face daily, as well as through phone, e-mail, letters, and memos.Being placed in conflict situations where parents and students might become angry or unpleasant.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAssistant Climate Managers are regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.****
