About the Role
Bondi Boulangerie is seeking an experienced and passionate Baker to lead our daily bread production and help build a rotating, seasonal cake offering. Based at our flagship Bondi Beach bakery, this hands‐on role is ideal for someone who values quality, consistency, and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and bake sourdough, baguettes, focaccia, and other fresh breads daily
* Maintain and manage natural starters, bulk fermentation, and proofing processes
* Operate and clean all bread‐related equipment, including deck ovens
* Collaborate on a core range of simple cakes (e.g., loaf cakes, canelés, eclairs)
* Bake off par‐baked or pre‐proofed products for our other stores when needed
* Ensure consistency across shaping, baking times, and product quality
* Help forecast production volumes and adjust recipes/quantities accordingly
* Support the pastry team during quiet periods or peak demands
What We're Looking For
* 2+ years of skilled experience in artisan bread or cake baking
* Strong understanding of fermentation and dough handling
* Eye for detail and pride in high‐quality, consistent output
* Ability to work early mornings and thrive in a rapid‐paced workplace
* Team player with a positive, can‐do attitude
Pay
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
