We're currently seeking a talented and experienced Creative Lead to join our leadership team and help shape the future of design and motion at NSS.
While this role is based in Sydney, we're open to remote candidates for the right fit.
The Opportunity
As Creative Lead, you will guide the creative direction and craft excellence across NSS's 2D motion, animation, illustration, compositing and editing work.
You'll play a key leadership role within the studio - inspiring others, elevating creative thinking, and helping shape our culture, systems and standards.
NSS is a busy, fast-paced studio handling multiple high-profile projects at once, so you'll thrive here if you love leading from the front, supporting a team across varied briefs, and delivering consistently world-class work.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading creative across 2D motion, animation, illustration, compositing and editing projects
Developing original concepts and setting clear and compelling creative direction
Leading multiple projects simultaneously in a busy studio environment
Mentoring and coaching creatives across all levels, fostering growth and innovation
Collaborating closely with Creative Leads, Producers and Directors to plan and deliver high-impact work
Embedding new techniques, tools and processes, including emerging technologies, into the studio workflow
Leading client presentations and communicating creative intent with clarity and confidence
Contributing to the leadership, culture and strategic direction of the studio
What You'll Bring
Expert-level skills in 2D motion design and animation
Strong visual design sensibility across typography, layout and composition
Deep proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Outstanding conceptual thinking and creative problem-solving
Experience leading projects and presenting work to clients
Leadership capability: inspiring, supportive, clear and collaborative
The ability to manage multiple projects with composure and clarity
Tech-savvy mindset, eager to experiment with emerging tools, workflows and technologies
A passion for mentoring and developing creative talent
