About Us

Maitland City Council is a diverse and dynamic organisation in a rapidly growing LGA. Our Senior Project Engineer - Scheduling and Governance will play key role in overseeing the delivery of Council's four-year capital works program. The 2025-2026 budget includes $67 million in capital works investment, focussing on asset remediation, renewal, and key infrastructure projects.

About The Role

The Senior Project Engineer - Scheduling & Governance will play a key role in coordinating the organisational wide scheduling, reporting and governance of Council's four-year capital works delivery program, ensuring critical milestones are met and complex projects stay on track.

Drawing on your experience delivering public infrastructure projects from initiation to handover, you will contribute to the development and monitoring of Council's Capital Delivery Program budgets, including reporting on financial progress and ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.

With a focus on continuous improvement this role will recommend changes to improve the delivery of Council's Capital Works Program, regularly responding to unexpected situations and recommending solutions to keep projects on track.

Benefits

This is a permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $118,909 - $131,989 per year + 12% p.a superannuation + private leaseback vehicle.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant trade qualifications/training coupled with experience.

The successful candidate will have experience in delivering public infrastructure projects and contract management, with a strong background in scheduling, critical path analysis, and project controls for large programs.

The ability to prepare and manage budgets is essential, as is a highly developed interpersonal skills including strong negotiation and influencing skills.
