As the Allied Health Assistant you will participate as a member of the GEM at Home team, which provides care to older people with complex medical, functional and/or psychosocial needs in their own home in lieu of an extended or avoidable hospital admission. At times you will be required to manage a busy workload and competing demands
About the role:
As the Allied Health Assistant duties for the role will include:
* Provide specific therapeutic interventions under direction of the AHP staff
* Monitoring patient response to therapies and reporting to the supervising AHP
* Accurately maintain documentation under the explicit direction of the supervising AHP
* Assisting with patient movement and/or physical tasks as part of a directed therapy intervention
About you:
* Ability to work in a physically demanding environment to assist patient therapy and/ or handling of patient related equipment and devices
* Sound communication and interpersonal skills - able to demonstrate the ability to work with people from a variety of cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
* Demonstrated aptitude for work in the community setting, supporting patient interventions in their own home
* Must possess or be undertaking a Certificate 3 in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent
* Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service
