About the role

Our Workers Compensation Claims Officer will strategically manage Queensland statutory workers' compensation claims while providing proactive injury management services across Wilmar Sugar & Renewables and Sugar Australia's Queensland operations. You will ensure the effective implementation of our injury management framework and provide expert advice on legislative obligations.

Please note this role is a full-time permanent, in office role.

Your responsibilities
* Manage all statutory Queensland workers' compensation claims from lodgement to finalisation
* Maintain strong business relationships by conducting claims review meetings and providing education to managers and supervisors
* Collaborate with external allied health professionals, treating doctors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and effective recovery outcomes
* Support internal audits and facilitate compliance with workers' compensation legislation and company policies
* Approve claim‐related expenses, manage medical case conferences, and oversee recovery strategies for injured employees
About you
* Demonstrated experience in the management and processing of Queensland statutory claims, including rehabilitation and return to work
* Sound knowledge of workers' compensation and rehabilitation legislative requirements
* Previous experience working with self-insured employers managing workers compensation claims
* Strong problem‐solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to travel to various sites across Queensland, including regional driving and occasional overnight stays
