FCS Concrete Repairs Pty Ltd, trading as FCS Concrete Repairs, is a Remedial Building company specialising in concrete remediation, crack injection, protective coatings, concrete polishing, waterproofing and leak sealing, and structural strengthening. This is a diverse list of services which can be utilised to resolve many problems associated with asset protection and remediation. This applies to all sectors from large residential to commercial and industrial buildings, to public sewerage, water and drainage infrastructure, to bridges, roads and rail, to water storage reservoirs and dams, to general marine and coastal infrastructure.
About the role
On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking a dedicated, self-driven and highly organised Solid Plasterer to be part of their growing team. You will be responsible for installing decorative and protective layers of plaster, cement, or similar materials on the interior and exterior surfaces of buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities
Calculate plasterboard measurements, mark board and position panel sections and cut plasterboard according to plans
Select the appropriate plastering materials for different sites
Clean and prepare surfaces by stapling wire-mesh frames to them, or by roughening them with mechanical hammers
Mix and apply coats of plaster, cement, render or similar materials to walls and ceilings, level and smoothen them by using trowels
Secure plasterboard panels to walls and ceilings
Level and straighten corners, angles, and wall and ceiling surfaces
Apply finishing coats of plaster to give a smooth finish or decorative texture
Fix precast cornices and panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings
Render exterior walls and moulds
Apply plaster or sealants over nail holes and joint crevices
Finish underside of concrete floors with a mixture of cement and granite chips or blue metal
Protect non-plastering surfaces with appropriate materials
Erect scaffolding (subject to licence requirements in some states or territories) and trestles
Fix and repair previous plastering work when necessary
Report any structural issues to the site foreman
Consult with other contractors to ensure project deadlines are met timeously
Essential Skills
Be able to estimate costs for potential projects
Have the ability to work unsupervised using initiative
Have a professional presentation & approach
Qualifications needed
Certificate level or equivalent relevant work experience
Minimum 3 years of work experience on relevant position

Salary
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000-$95,000 plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
