About the Role
Due to rapid growth, we are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team at Bayswater. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll in accordance with Australian legislation, industrial instruments, and company policies. This role ensures compliance with Fair Work requirements, taxation, superannuation, and reporting obligations while providing payroll support to employees and management.
The Payroll Officer is also a supporting role to the Finance Manager and back up support to the Finance Team for all Air Control related entities.
Key responsibilities
* Process end-to-end payroll on a weekly and monthly basis for multiple legal entities across multiple states
* Ensuring all legislation is complied with in relation to:
* Fair Work Act and Modern Awards
* Australian Taxation Office (ATO) requirements
* Superannuation Guarantee (SG) legislation
* Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting
* Portable Long Service Leave Australia wide
* Prepare and lodge payroll tax, superannuation, PAYGW
* Management of construction industry Portable Long Service Leave in VIC, NSW & QLD
* Management of apprenticeship sign up and cancellation, claiming government incentives and reimbursing trade school fees
* Prepare payroll-related reports for management and EOFY processes
What we're looking for
* Relevant qualification in Payroll, HR or Accounting
* Minimum 5 years proven experience in a high-volume payroll role
* Sound knowledge of Fair Work legislation and Modern Awards
* Experience with Single Touch Payroll (STP), Payday Super, ATO
* Experience with payroll tax across multiple states
* Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
* Ability to work in a demanding, high-volume environment and meet company deadlines
* Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills, with the ability to accurately maintain financial records
* Strong time management and organisational skills
