Leading a Water Treatment Team
Goulburn Valley Water is a prominent provider of quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Our core purpose is to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable water services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
We seek an experienced Senior Operator – Water Treatment to lead our Water Treatment team in the Southern region. This role will provide daily direction and feedback relating to water process activities.
The successful candidate will strive to positively influence the team in areas of process, performance, and safe work practices while ensuring our focus is on meeting customer service standards and service levels. They will also provide significant field presence to guide employees and contractors in undertaking operational activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to begin or continue their leadership journey. With guidance from the Manager and Team Leader, you will support individuals and the team to perform their roles to a high level as a cohesive unit.
About Your New Role
You will balance a significant field presence with administrative requirements such as effective planning and organisation of daily activities, assisting in the preparation of operational plans, responding to customer enquiries, and ensuring the review of plant operation, preventative maintenance, and safety procedures are executed effectively.
This role coordinates the day-to-day activities including operation and maintenance of water treatment plants in the Southern region (Seymour).
Water treatment operators have an essential role in the production of safe drinking water.
About You
* Certificate 3 in Water Industry Operations is a must.
* Certificate 4 in Water Industry Operations – Treatment is preferred.
* Minimum 3 years experience in Water Operations (preferably treatment) within the Water Industry or similar industry.
* Completion of or willingness to complete recognised leadership course, Confined Space Entry, Competency in Breathing Apparatus, Working at Heights, and First Aid.
* Experience working as part of an on-call/duty roster.
* Strong OHS commitment and focus.
* Ability to support teams and allocate tasks to team members.
* Ability to work effectively, or learn quickly, with computer-based technology, including Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational, self-management, and problem-solving skills.
* Adaptable, hands-on, and enjoy working outdoors and in all elements.
