The Northern Territory Government is hiring for a dedicated role that involves delivering integrated statutory and non-statutory welfare services to vulnerable children and families.
Key Responsibilities
* Recruit, assess and manage carers, collaborating with other departments and non-government organisations.
* Undertake statutory responsibilities and exercise delegations under the Care and Protection of Children Act.
To succeed in this position, you must have completed a tertiary qualification eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, Community Work Australia or the Australian Psychological Society, or equivalent.
Your strong understanding of principles and functions of delivering statutory and non-statutory welfare services, conducting strength-based assessments, developing effective interventions and interpreting complex legislation will be essential for your success in this role.
You will also have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, family and community structures, with the ability to communicate and work in a culturally safe manner.
