The role
As a Transport Coordinator/Allocator at Slab Technologies Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in optimising the logistics and transportation operations of our dynamic manufacturing business. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the fleet and drivers to optimise the movement of goods and materials for our customer deliveries.
Key responsibilities
1. Liaise with production, sales, and customer service teams to understand transportation requirements and priorities
2. Manage transportation resources, including trucks, drivers, loaders and delivery routes, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products
3. Ensure fleet is maintained to optiminal standard managing maintenance schedule and repairs
4. Drive compliance and a Safe work environment for all crew
5. Monitor real-time transportation and delivery activities, and make adjustments as needed to address any disruptions or delays
6. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, costs, and performance metric
What we're looking for
1. Minimum 3 years of experience in a transport coordination or logistics planning role, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimise transportation plans and respond effectively to changes
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders, both internally and externally
4. Proficient in using transportation management systems and data analysis tools
5. Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety requirements, and best practices
6. Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
