Seeking a Senior Social Worker to plan, provide and evaluate specialist social work services to critical areas in the acute care setting.


The Team:

The Role:

* Plan, provide, evaluate and operationalise trauma informed social work practice for client groups with complex needs across specialist inpatient and outpatient settings around the hospital.
* Mentor and supervise social work staff and students based on discipline specific best practice, in alignment with THS North's organisational priorities and goals.
* Engage in clinical case reviews, group clinical reasoning sessions and actively participate in seniors' meetings to progress our priorities and goals.
* Undertake a significant role in seniors' meetings to plan, develop and review policies and guidelines and functions of the Department of Social Work.
* Actively participate in and contribute to the organisations Quality and Safety and Work Health and Safety processes, including the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people and related trainings.

Details of appointment:

Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 3 March 2025. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.


Position Features:

* Frequent travel within Northern Tasmania

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.


Salary:

$110,425 to $121,907 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022


Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

* Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.
* Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
* Professional development and accelerated pathways.
* A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support.
* Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.


Essential Criteria:

* Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Overseas qualified Social Work candidates require a positive skill assessment “certification of eligibility” letter from the AASW to confirm their eligibility for membership to the AASW
* Overseas qualified students and migrants must prove their English language proficiency as per AASW requirements and pass the IELTS (International English language Testing System) test.
* Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements
* Full member of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
* Current Working with Children Registration


Desirable Criteria:

* Postgraduate, or progression toward postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position
* Current Driver’s Licence
