About the role:
We are seeking an experienced High Voltage (HV) Electrician to join the maintenance team at our Wilpinjong open‑cut mine, located 48 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.
This is a hands‑on role supporting critical HV infrastructure across a large‑scale mining operation with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and performance.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and fault‑finding of high‑voltage and low‑voltage electrical systems across site. You’ll play a key role in ensuring production equipment and infrastructure operate safely and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance, inspection, and repair of HV electrical systems and infrastructureHV switching, isolations, and permit complianceFault finding and breakdown response across HV and LV systemsPlanned maintenance, shutdown support, and reliability improvement workMaintaining compliance with site procedures, legislation, and safety standardsWorking closely with operations and maintenance teams to maintain KPI’s availability & reliability
About you:
Trade‑qualified Electrician with HV switching authorisationPrevious experience in an open‑cut mining or heavy industrial environment with fixed & mobile plantStrong fault‑finding and diagnostic capabilityCommitment to safety and a proactive approach to hazard to work independently and as part of a team in a high‑pressure environmentStrong communication and documentation skillsValid driver’s licence; additional tickets (e.g., forklift, EWP) are an advantage.
