Environmental Protection Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated First Nations lawyer to join our team. As an Outreach Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our environmental legal centre to build and maintain reciprocal relationships with First Nations communities and their representative organisations.
Your role will involve delivering legal information and education about cultural heritage laws in a culturally safe manner on Country within First Nations communities. You will also have the chance to learn from a broad range of community members, solicitors, and other professionals who work on various issues related to environmental justice.

Your Responsibilities
* To build and maintain reciprocal relationships with First Nations communities and their representative organisations.
* To deliver legal information and education about cultural heritage laws in a culturally safe manner on Country within First Nations communities.
* To work collaboratively with our team to achieve common goals and objectives.
* To participate in law reform or policy activities related to cultural heritage.
Selection Criteria
1. A practicing certificate or entitlement to one.
2. A minimum of 2 years PAE desired for Solicitor level (a minimum of 5 years PAE desired for Senior Solicitor level).
3. Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: legal outreach, legal education, administrative law, environmental law, and/or cultural heritage law.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound judgments and decisions based on consideration of different views.
5. Demonstrated ability to work productively and to deadlines.
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills suited to a range of audiences.
