The Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service delivers integrated care to residents and visitors across the Capricorn Coast, spanning 11,651 square kilometres — from Byfield Forest in the north to Keppel Sands in the south, including the key communities of Yeppoon and Emu Park.
The Emergency and Inpatient Service includes:
* A dedicated Emergency Department with short-stay beds
* A 22-bed inpatient unit
* An Infusion Clinic providing day services
All working together to keep care close to home and support the region when it matters most.
About the role
Deliver advanced, evidence-based nursing care across Emergency and Inpatient Units in line with professional standards. As the Clinical Nurse you will play a key leadership role in clinical care, education, quality, and safety, using advanced assessment and intervention skills to respond to changing patient needs and drive positive outcomes.
This role supports safe medication management, strengthens multidisciplinary teamwork, and fosters a learning environment through mentoring staff and students. You will contribute to quality improvement, service development, and research, while taking responsibility for leadership duties, including after-hours coordination and acting in senior roles when required. Strong analytical thinking, innovation, and a commitment to continuous professional growth underpin success in this dynamic, patient-focused position.
About you
* Current qualifications and registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
* Advanced Life Support / Paediatrics Advanced Life Support (ALS/PALS) competency will be an ongoing requirement of this position.
* While not mandatory, holding a postgraduate qualification or working towards one that is relevant to the position would be highly regarded.
What we offer
Total remuneration value of up to $139,252 p.a. is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
* 17.5% leave loading
