Sumitomo Rubber Australia is responsible for the wholesale operations of two market leading brands, Dunlop and Falken tyres, to the Australian replacement market. Sumitomo Rubber Australia is the Australian subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. which is based in Japan with more than a century of trading history and a global presence.
About the Role:
We are currently looking for a Marketing Manager to support all facets of marketing associated with the Dunlop & Falken brands by developing and executing marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth within the tyre industry. This role requires strong knowledge of automotive aftermarket trends, dealer networks, B2B/B2C marketing channels, and Motorsport.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing & Planning
• Develop, own, and present the annual marketing strategy and budget, ensuring direct alignment with business objectives, collaborating with the other departments
• Develop and implement marketing plans aligned with business objectives and sales targets
• Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activity.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
• Manage marketing budgets and measure ROI of campaigns.
Brand Management
• Strengthen brand positioning across retail, wholesale, and fleet markets.
• Oversee digital presence, advertising, sponsorships, and promotional activities.
• Ensure consistency of brand messaging across all platforms.
Campaign Management
• Plan and execute promotional campaigns (seasonal offers, dealer programs, product launches).
• Manage content creation for social media, website, and customer communications.
• Collaborate with sales teams to align marketing initiatives with sales objectives.
Dealer & Customer Engagement
• Develop marketing support programs for tyre dealers, distributors, and retail partners.
• Coordinate events, trade shows, and training sessions.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the tyre and automotive industry.
Data & Reporting
• Analyse sales and marketing performance, providing insights to management.
• Monitor customer trends, market share, and campaign effectiveness.
• Report regularly on KPIs and recommend improvements.
• General administrative duties
Skills & Qualifications:
• 5+ years' experience in marketing, ideally within the automotive or tyre industry (this would be an advantage but not a must)
• Strong digital marketing knowledge (SEO, SEM, social media, CRM).
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to interpret market data and trends.
• Experience managing budgets.
• Bachelors degree in Marketing would be an advantage but not a must.
