Choice Metering provides electricity, gas and water metering services to over 120,000 customers in Embedded Networks, and with rapid growth now coming to our business we need you to assist us with servicing our Retailers Customers.
Using market-leading equipment and software, our team will provide you with the training and support for you to be creative and grow in your new role.
We are based in Melbourne but provide services nationally. We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and self-directed Special Meter Reader to service our customers based in Adelaide. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
Reporting to our Field Coordinator, the primary purpose of this position is to perform meter reading and service orders (connections & disconnections) for our Retailers Customers.
The works are mainly carried out in Shopping Centres, Office Buildings & Apartment Buildings, and you will either be provided with a fully maintained company vehicle or car allowance, tablet/phone for field operations, company apparel and appropriate tools. We will provide training and induction including on-site visits.
Special Meter Readers are to:
1. Present neat in appearance and represent the company in a professional manner
2. Collect meter readings and enter these reads via our field app
3. Change supply status of customers (connect and disconnect supply)
4. Examine meters and fixtures for proper function and reporting any damage or defects
5. Notify appropriate personnel of access arrangement changes, metering irregularities, suspected tampering and unsafe meter installations
6. Liaise with Building/Strata/OC Managers for access to buildings
7. After hours work may be required and you will be paid overtime for this work
Required Skills:
1. Ability to work on your own, be self-directed and organised
2. Manage your time effectively
3. Have a high attention to detail and accurate meter reading skills
4. Fluent in English (verbal & written) and able to articulate yourself and communicate effectively
5. Great customer liaison skills (dealing with centre managers and body corporate managers)
6. Computer skills: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook email and mobile apps
7. Flexible with adaptability
8. Problem solving and decision making
9. Health and safety consciousness, including environmental
Prerequisites:
1. Australian resident
2. Full Drivers License
3. Police Check
4. Health Check (may be required)
