Join Northern Grampians Shire Council and play a key role in supporting financial operations that make a real difference in our community.

We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to manage creditor payments, reconciliations, and support internal stakeholders in adhering to accounts payable procedures.

Position: Accounts Payable Officer

Job Type: Full Time - Fortnightly RDO

Tenure: Permanent

Location: Stawell or St Arnaud

Package: $69,191.72 per annum plus superannuation

Job Description

Position objectives

This position is responsible for the administration, processing and reconciliation of creditor payments, corporate credit cards and support of internal stakeholders in the adhering to accounts payable procedures.

Key responsibility areas

* Administer and reconcile all creditor and accounts payable processes.
* Process and administer corporate credit card reconciliations.
* Participate in team projects and process mapping and reviews.
* Provide training and guidance to all staff on accounts payable procedures, credit card reporting and procurement guidelines.
* Perform, as directed, other duties that are within the limits of the incumbents' skill, competence and training.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications and experience

* Post-secondary qualification in bookkeeping, finance or accounting.
* Experience in financial administration.

Selection criteria

* Knowledge of the accounts payable function and understanding of accounting principles and Australian taxation requirements.
* Proven ability to work co-operatively in a team environment and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to review and interpret numerical information, ensuring accuracy and compliance with audit, ATO and regulatory requirements.
