Overview
We are partnering with a Commonwealth agency to source a Procurement Officer at the APS6 level to provide specialist procurement advisory and operational support within a fast-paced government environment. This opportunity is ideal for a procurement professional with strong Commonwealth experience who can step in quickly and operate with minimal supervision.
A labour hire contract until 30 June 2026 is on offer. The role is based in Canberra, with limited flexibility to work from home (up to one day per week, by agreement).
Please note: the successful candidate must be an Australian citizen with an existing minimum Baseline security clearance.
Duties
* Provide high-quality, timely procurement advice to business areas in line with CPRs and PGPA requirements.
* Work with stakeholders to identify procurement needs and support early engagement and planning.
* Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, records and reporting.
* Create, update and manage approaches to market and panel arrangements through AusTender and BuyICT.
* Maintain accurate procurement records in TechOne.
* Support contract management activities, including supplier engagement and internal reporting.
* Develop and maintain clear, practical internal procurement guidance and documentation.
Requisite skills/experience
* Proven experience using TechOne, AusTender and BuyICT.
* Strong working knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and PGPA Act.
* The ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
* Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
* Completion of, or progression toward, a Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Procurement and Contracting will be highly regarded.
