Due to business growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Foreman to join our Infrastructure Services business based from our Warrnambool depot on an initial 9 month fixed term contract (with a potential to move into a permanent role). With demonstrated experience as a Foreman, you will professionally manage a team, ensuring that there is a strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, punctuality, reliability and respect for others.
This role will oversee a crew of people, working throughout the Southwestern region of Victoria. Typically, our team can travel within 3 hours of Warrnambool so there will be a requirement to work weekends, nights and away from home at times. We're looking for a hardworking ethos, reliability and honest and an individual with demonstrated asphalt/industry experience.
Responsibilities will include:
* Complying with and ensuring relevant company policies and procedures and site rules are implemented
* Leading and coordinating an Asphalt Paving crew to achieve positive project outcomes
* Ensuring crew (employees/labour hire/subcontractors) are appropriately inducted, trained, licensed and competent to operate
* Monitor and review crew labour hours.
* Maintaining productive relationships and clear lines of communication within the crew, supervisor and clients.
* Reporting and monitoring of workplace hazards, risks, issues, incidents
* Contribute to development of SWMS and attend/lead daily toolbox meetings to address all site requirements, ensuring all project personnel in attendance.
* Ensuring all plant is inducted, fit for purpose, pre-start checks are completed ensuring unsafe plant is tagged / locked out, defects actioned accordingly
* Ensure all works is carried out as per the relevant SWMS, and any variation to hazards and risks is documented on the SWMS. This must be reviewed, discussed and documented on the daily prestart meeting record.
* Accept personal accountability for own decisions and behaviours in performing daily
How you will connect to the role:
* A valid HR vehicle licence.
* An interest in working outdoors and in all weather conditions
* Previous experience in managing a team
* Forward thinking, ability to plan & coordinate works considering different factors (weather, team availability etc)
