Job no: 504808 Work type: Contract Full Time Location: Brisbane Categories: Journalism/Content Making, Production/Content Desirable Brisbane location Diversified and inclusive team and work environment Contract full time role for approximately 12 months Salary $101K to $110K (paid on a pro rata basis) The Role We are looking for a Deputy Digital Editor for a 12 month contract to oversee and lead daily content production to ensure ABC News Online delivers a consistently high standard of original, creative, and relevant material from Queensland. You'll work with journalists and other digital staff to prepare and sub-edit digital content including text, photos, audio, and video for the Queensland home page. Reporting to the Digital Editor you will be responsible for helping research, prepare and refine stories to meet ABC News's digital editorial requirements. You will be subbing and editing stories, including legally and editorially complex features, and helping reporters with a broad range of experience to enhance their stories. Position Description: 30004956 DEPUTY DIGITAL EDITOR About You You're a storyteller with proven experience in digital sub editing and production, ideally with a background in reporting on issues that affect the Queensland community. You will also possess a solid understanding of digital audience trends, audience analytics and emerging platforms, with experience in using social media platforms to source and verify content. Your success in this role will also be dependent on your ability to demonstrate; Experience with, and an advanced understanding of, digital news publishing systems, including CoreMedia. Advanced communication techniques and a strong focus on teamwork. A proven ability to source and maintain contacts across the broader Australian community.
