We are now seeking an experienced and commercially driven Senior Business Development Manager to lead growth across the mining and resources sector, with a strong focus on Western Australia and national mining operations.

This is a high‐impact commercial role suited to a proactive business development professional who is confident building relationships, opening doors, securing new opportunities and developing long‐term strategic partnerships across complex industrial environments.

The Opportunity

This role will play a key part in executing Tyrecycle's growth strategy across the mining sector. You will be responsible for identifying, pursuing and securing new commercial opportunities with major mining organisations, contractors, regional operators and industry partners.

You will spend significant time in‐market, meeting with customers, visiting sites, building relationships and converting opportunities into long‐term commercial outcomes. This is a hands‐on, customer‐facing role that requires strong initiative, commercial discipline and a genuine drive to grow market share.

Regular travel will be required across Western Australian mining regions, with occasional travel as needed depending on customer activity, project requirements and business priorities. Some interstate travel, including to the East Coast, may also be required as the national mining portfolio continues to develop.

Working closely with internal mining leadership, operations and senior stakeholders, you will support deal progression, tender opportunities, customer transition and long‐term account success.

As the mining portfolio grows, this role is expected to develop over time, with potential progression within approximately 18 months to include leadership responsibility for 1 to 2 direct reports, such as Business Development Managers or Account Managers supporting the mining portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans across the mining and resources sector.
  • Identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities with major mining clients, contractors and regional operators.
  • Build a strong pipeline of prospective customers across Western Australia and nationally.
  • Spend regular time in-market attending client meetings, site visits, industry engagements and customer presentations.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across mining, resources, transport, industrial services and related sectors.
  • Manage and grow selected key mining accounts while maintaining a strong focus on new business acquisition.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for contracts, tenders and strategic agreements.
  • Develop tailored value propositions aligned to customer operational, environmental and commercial needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support deal closure, customer onboarding, operational alignment and service delivery.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and sector developments to identify growth opportunities.
  • Prepare forecasts, business cases, pipeline updates and performance reporting for senior leadership.
  • Represent Tyrecycle at industry events, conferences and stakeholder engagements.
About You

You are a commercially driven and highly proactive business development professional who thrives in front of customers. You enjoy being out in the market, building relationships, identifying opportunities and converting new business.

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in senior sales, business development or key account management.
  • Experience within mining, resources, industrial services, heavy industry, transport, waste, recycling or a related sector.
  • Proven ability to win new business and grow strategic accounts.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, negotiation, contracts and tender development.
  • Confidence engaging, influencing and building trust with senior decision‐makers.
  • A proactive, growth‐focused mindset with the drive to identify and convert new opportunities.
  • Strong communication, analytical and relationship management skills.
  • Experience working with both enterprise clients and regional or contractor‐based customers.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel regularly across WA mining regions and interstate as required.
