About the role
As a key member of our frontline team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining Sydney Water's network assets. You'll ensure our water services are safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible—meeting regulatory standards and exceeding customer expectations.
This hands-on role supports our core network assets: Stormwater, Potable Water, and Sewer systems.
What will you be doing?
* Perform maintenance and repairs on water and sewer mains, hydrants, valves, and access chambers.
* Carry out construction tasks including trench excavation, pipe laying, restoration, plant operation, truck driving, steel fixing, and carpentry.
* Operate both mechanical and manual tools to complete projects safely and efficiently.
* Maintain strong client relationships and deliver work aligned with briefs, specifications, and contract documents.
* Ensure the safe operation of Sydney Water's equipment and assets.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking individuals who are safety-focused, team-oriented, and customer-driven. If you have experience in manual labour, stormwater drainage, civil works, or water maintenance, we would love to hear from you.
You will need:
* A current NSW Driver's Licence (Medium Rigid minimum)
* Experience in manual labour, ideally in maintenance, stormwater, civil, or water mains
* Front End Loader and Confined Space tickets (highly desirable)
* Flexibility to travel across Sydney Water's network
* Availability Monday to Friday (6:30am – 4:00pm), with overtime and weekend work as required
