Overview
Serco in Campbell, ACT is seeking a Dentist to provide dental services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Defence Health Services contracted sites, including 50+ on-base locations nationally.
You will be responsible for the provision of dental services to patients, including emergency treatments, general examinations and preventative treatments, restorations, minor oral surgical procedures, x-rays, extractions, root canal treatments and the design/management of prosthodontics. In this role you will liaise with the senior dental officer (depending on clinic size), medical officers, nursing officers, and specialist dental providers where needed to provide comprehensive dental care. You will promote and maintain the good oral health of personnel in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures, ensuring patients are dentally fit for deployment.
Responsibilities
- Provide dental services including emergency treatments, general examinations, preventative treatments, restorations, minor oral surgical procedures, x-rays, extractions, root canal treatments and prosthodontics design/management.
- Collaborate with the senior dental officer, medical officers, nursing officers and specialist dental providers to deliver comprehensive dental care.
- Promote and maintain the oral health of Defence personnel in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Dentist, General with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Minimum 2 years full-time post-graduate clinical chair-side experience within the last 5 years (or part-time equivalent).
- Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
About ACT Health Centre
ACT houses Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA). The ACT Health Centre opened mid-2021 and is a large facility serving approximately 7,000 military personnel, including trainee officers from ADFA and Royal Military College. Standard hours of operation are generally 0700–1630 Monday to Friday, with weekend and on-call shifts as required by role requirements and craft groups.
