OverviewWe are looking for experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our client, a successful long running 100% Australian manufacturer of world class steel blade and cutting products for over 45 years.
Reporting into the engineering manager your role is to provide effective maintenance and repair of plant and equipment to achieve plant reliability, cost efficiency, and to ensure safety and quality.ResponsibilitiesPreventative maintenance with a focus on safety and maximising productionRespond and investigate breakdown work minimising downtimeInstall new equipment and relocate existing equipmentWorking on a range of equipment involved in metal machining and millingContribute to continuous improvementAdherence safety policies and proceduresParticipation in toolbox and team meetings and maintain workplace relationshipsSupport the training and development of apprentices through mentoringYou will needFormal trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter and TurnerMinimum 3 years mechanical fitting experience (including general machining), working in a heavy industrial workplace.Press and die setting experienceExperience with pneumatics and hydraulics would be highly regardedCommitment to producing quality productsExcellent communication skillsThe ability to work in a team environmentBasic computer skillsMaintain and use mechanical equipment as designed and effectively diagnose, and fault-find mechanical equipmentInspect, analyse and record critical mechanical information during the process of undertaking preventative maintenance work.BenefitsThis is a full-time permanent position with an hourly rate up to $45 per hour depending on experience with reasonable amounts of overtime available if wanted.
