Accounts Payable & Payroll Officer (Part-Time)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable & Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a part-time basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is critical in supporting the accurate and timely delivery of accounts payable and payroll functions, while contributing to effective month-end reporting in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position responsible for purchase order monitoring, invoice processing, and full payroll function. You will play a key role in maintaining accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable, Financial Control & Office Support
* Manage invoice processing, matching, and coding with a strong focus on accuracy and control
* Ensure timely processing of invoices, accruals, and payment cycles
* Prepare and process payment runs (ABA files) in line with approval frameworks
* Reconcile supplier accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
* Oversee purchase order compliance and identify/escalate financial control breaches
* Manage supplier relationships and respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders
* Provide backup support for bank, weekly A/R reconciliations, and cost of goods suppliers
* Contribute to continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls
* Support general office administration as required
Payroll
* Manage end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely payments
* Oversee rostering and timekeeping systems, including hours, attendance, and leave records in collaboration with site supervisors
* Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring full data integrity
* Perform payroll reconciliations and reporting
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreement, and company policies
* Respond to and resolve payroll-related queries in a timely manner
* Continuously review payroll processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and control
What You’ll Bring
* Experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll within a fast-paced environment
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Solid organizational and communication skills
* Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements
* Ability to identify process improvements and work autonomously
* Proficiency in Excel and accounting/payroll systems (SAGE, ADP, TANDA preferred, not essential)
* A proactive, team-focused “can-do” attitude
