We are seeking a skilled Component Fabricator – Steel worker to join our production team manufacturing fabricated steel components for playground equipment
About the Role
This role involves a variety of hands-on metalwork tasks including measuring, cutting, drilling, welding, finishing, and quality control. If you're experienced with fabrication, reliable, and take pride in producing high-quality work, we'd love to hear from you.
Component Preparation
Reading and interpreting plans and drawings
Measuring, marking and preparing raw materials
Cutting, drilling, bending, linishing of steel, sheet metal and aluminium components
Preparing components using various tools, press, torch or metal cutting machine
Mig welding of fabricated components
Cleaning of welds, removal of spatter, preparing components for sandblasting
Coating and finishing of welds to ensure alignment and secure connections
Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet the required standards
All housekeeping duties associated with debris disposal
Sandblasting Process
Batching, loading and preparing blasting booth
Assisting blasting process, unloading and crating finished components
Batching and sorting components for powder coating
Warehouse Duties
Care and maintenance of machinery and tools
Sorting, counting and storage of stock items
Adhere to all safety guidelines, procedures and policies
Inwards Goods
Unloading raw materials (steel), fabricated components and steel and welding supplies
Checking inward goods against delivery dockets, purchase orders and signing off
Shelving of goods and organising inventory
Skills Required
Proficient in MIG welding and confident using a wide range of metalworking tools and machinery.
Ability to read and follow plans and technical drawings accurately.
Forklift licence (preferred).
Strong attention to detail and quality
Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
Must have 4 years' experience in steel fabrication
Trade qualified – Cert 3 Engineering – Fabrication
Team orientated with flexibility and adaptability
