Job Overview:
This position involves working with a multidisciplinary team to test and operate autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) in various field environments.
The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical or electrical trades, as well as proficiency in interpreting technical documentation. They should be able to perform functional checkouts and tests, diagnose issues, and provide constructive feedback to design and manufacturing teams.
A strong commitment to safety, quality, and collaboration is essential for this role. The successful candidate will also be required to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 2 security clearance (NV2).
Key Responsibilities:
* Test and operate AUVs in the field environment
* Prepare for field deployments by identifying, sourcing, and kitting test and support equipment
* Conduct daily AUV inspections and system checks
* Coordinate AUV launch and recovery evolutions
* Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrades of AUVs
* Support development, review, and trials of Standard Operating Procedures and user documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* 4+ years experience in mechanical or electrical trades
* Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation
* Experience performing functional checkouts and tests
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and problem-solving skills
* Commitment to safety, quality, and collaboration
* Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Negative Vetting 2 security clearance (NV2)
